About me

Sofía Minieri is a human rights lawyer working globally to advance gender justice from an intersectional perspective. As Strategy Manager at Women Enabled International (WEI), Sofía co-leads WEI's efforts to identify and address the challenges faced by human rights defenders working at the intersection of gender and disability and to foster an ecosystem in which they have the resources and support they need to sustain their vital work and leadership. Previously, she led WEI's collaborative strategies to strengthen the capacity of individual advocates, civil society organizations, states, funders, and other stakeholders to advance human rights from a gender and disability inclusion approach.

Prior to joining WEI in 2021, Sofía worked with civil society organizations, intergovernmental agencies, and regional human rights bodies—including the Spotlight Initiative and the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights—to implement strategic interventions to address gender-based violence and discrimination and advance sexual and reproductive rights in Argentina and the Americas.  She holds an LL.M. from Columbia Law School, where she was a Human Rights Fellow and a Harlan Fiske Stone scholar. She also holds an LL.B. in Law from the Universidad Torcuato Di Tella, Argentina.
