The Ministry’s Role in Social Development:

Her Excellency Wafa Bani Mustafa is a prominent figure in the Jordanian political and social scene. She currently occupies the position of Minister of Social Development and Chair of the Inter-Ministerial Committee for Women's Empowerment, following a distinguished career in legislative and legal work.
She previously served as Minister of State for Legal Affairs (2021-2022) and was a member of the Jordanian House of Representatives for three consecutive terms representing Jerash Governorate (2010-2020). She was the first Jordanian woman to head a parliamentary bloc and founded the Jordanian Women Parliamentarians Caucus to enhance the role of women in legislative life.On the strategic and policy levels, she chaired the Higher Committee for Developing the National Social Protection Strategy (2025-2033) and launched the Women's Empowerment Strategy as part of the Economic Modernization Vision. She was also a member of the Royal Committee for Developing the Political System and its Constitutional Amendments subcommittee. She contributed to the drafting and amendment of numerous laws related to social protection, human rights, women's rights, and the rights of persons with disabilities.
