With over half of all persons with disabilities living in cities and towns today, a number that will grow to represent over 1 billion persons around the world by 2050, there is an urgent need to make universally accessible cities and territories a reality. As part of the global municipal movement's commitment to equity, this event will highlight the actions taken by local and regional governments to implement the UNCRPD and the partnerships needed to support current and future cities to be accessible for all.
