Side Event 19: How can Asia and the Pacific’s banking sector advance the economic inclusion of people with disabilities? A case study from Asian Development Bank (ADB) & Global Disability Innovation Hub (GDI Hub)

People with disabilities face significant barriers to economic inclusion, such as poverty, unemployment, lack of access to basic services and exclusion from finance. This Side Event will highlight the banking sector's role in addressing these barriers and showcase the impact of a two-year project by the Asian Development Bank's Trade and Supply Chain Finance Programme, in collaboration with the Global Disability Innovation Hub to catalyse economic inclusion across Asian and the Pacific. Sharing best practice, tangible evidence and new banking sector resources for inclusive pathways, this Side Event will explore the mechanisms for others within the sector to prioritize inclusion.
